Ribbit King One of our best sellers. An extremely clever re-imagining of golf, Ribbit King comes packed with wild power-ups, zany hazards and colorful characters. Chubby King Hippity of Planet Hippitron is at wit's end. The supply of Super Ribbinite -- the planet's sole energy source -- is running low. Enter Scooter, a very-cute construction worker (see pic at left) wearing what looks like a giant three-toed sock on his head. The hysterical king orders Scooter to use his hammer skills to save the planet. And off Scooter goes in a flying saucer to play through 20 rounds of frolf on five different planets. Along for the ride is Pickwick, a chatty picnic basket on legs who serves as Scooter's coach/caddy, toting helpful items and spare frogs for Scooter. Ribbit King is absolutely gorgeous. Bandai has opted for a classic Japanimation look, stuffing the game with bright colors, huge heads and beautiful textures to create worlds brimming with charm. The voice talent is quite good too, even though almost all talk in the high squeaky voices of cartoon kids. And if you can't get enough of eye candy while playing the main game, pop in the second disk to access tons of gorgeous cinematics. Gameplay consists of carefully lining up your shot, then timing the swing meter just right before hammering your frog-apult. And that's when the fun begins. Your frog will land and hop. It can gain much distance by bouncing off spider webs or landing in a warp pool. If your frog lands in water, it'll swim to the far side. If it lands on a steep slope, it will slide. If a snake leaps out of the ground to eat it, wiggle the C Stick quickly to get free. Even when a frog comes to what seems to be a halt, press A if you see a fly hovering overhead. Your frog will leap to eat it -- and if it lands on a spider web, or slope, or water, or warp pool, it will just keep going. You'll win points for all these actions. If you string actions together -- say, by eating multiple flies on a single shot -- you'll earn combo points. You can also gain points by hitting targets -- for example, by landing on a bull's-eye painted on ice on one of the snow courses. You can also lose points -- say, by landing in lava on planet Lavatron. Fortunately, you can buy power-ups to cure its health, make if fly farther, make it luckier, allow it to swim in lava and more. You can also purchase stronger frogs. Pickwick is a little guy, so there's a bit of strategy in choosing which items he should tote onto a course. Of course, you'll gain points by getting your frog in the hole -- actually a small pool -- in the fewest number of strokes and, especially, by getting a frog-in-one. But even if you have the fewest total strokes after a round, you can still lose. After a while, watching you frog cavorting about the course feels a little like playing the old board game Mouse Trap. You launch the action, then pretty much sit back and watch all the craziness happen. Because the cont
